Two Toddlers Suffer Separate Incidents in Family Pools on Same Day

In two separate incidents in southern Arizona earlier this month, two toddlers were taken to hospitals after falling into each of their families’ backyard pools.

The first toddler, a 20-month-old girl, was underwater for several moments at a home in Tempe shortly after 7 p.m., according to reports. The child was quickly removed from the pool and emergency services were summoned. Although they transported the toddler to Banner Desert Medical Center for evaluation, it was only as a safety precaution, since the gild was responsive and alert.

About an hour later at a home in Scottsdale, a 1-year-old girl fell into her family’s pool and was in the water for nearly a minute before she was pulled out by her parents, reports say. Emergency services was called and by the time they arrived, the toddler was responsive and crying. She was also transported to the hospital, Scottsdale Hospital, for evaluation as a precaution.
