Drowned Man Identified

A Newark, NJ man was identified by officials recently as the man who drowned last weekend while on a family outing at the Tomahawk Lake water park.

The victim, Marc Broadus, 49, drowned in the swimming area of the 20-acre Brnum lake after being pulled out of the lake by patrons and lifeguards, who unsuccessfully performed CPR on him, police said.

Police responded to the lake at about 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday; Broadus was pronounced dead at Newton Memorial Hospital about an hour later, reports say. Officials are still investigating the exact cause of death. Foul play is not suspected, reports say.
