Toddler Victim of Near-Drowning Incident in Above-Ground Pool

A Cottontown, Tennessee toddler who remained in the hospital as a near-drowning victim in above-ground pool earlier last month, was involved simply in an accident, reports say, and no foul play was suspected.

The 3-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by LifeFlight helicopter after emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, reports say.

The toddler was evidently in a group of children in the care of a babysitter when the incident occurred, reports say. The children were playing in the backyard near the pool at the time of the accident, reports say.

The accident was initially reported to emergency crews when a neighbor went looking for him and found him in the pool. The toddler remained in serious condition at Vanderbilt as of this report.
