Sunbather Saves Man From Downing

A Michigan man was saved from drowning late last month when a nearby sunbather who knew CPR rescued the man from the water and single-handedly resuscitated him.

Michael Flowers was relaxing on a Wolf Lake beach when Joshua Huddlestun, 25, of Egelston, Mich., somehow inhaled water and was motionless in the water.

Flowers, who knew CPR, helped restrieve the man. She then began to work on the man, who was purple and not breathing, with a very faint pulse. Flowers started doing mouth to mouth while he coached another sunbather to help with chest compressions, reports say.

Emergency crews from the Egelston Township Fire Department took over from Flowers and transported the man to the hospital. By that time, he was breathing on his own.
