Woodhaven Country Club Drowning

Emergency medical personnel were called to Woodhaven Country Club on June 24, 2011 to assist Keegan Adkins after he found unconscious in the swimming pool. Witnesses state the boy was pulled from the water and CPR was conducted on Keegan by emergency workers.

Although the club does have lifeguards, it was unclear as to whether they were on duty at the time. Woodhaven's pool manager, Leslie Lintelman, did not immediately respond to reporters' questions.

Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of the patrons at the swimming pool. Often time lifeguards do not receive adequate training and do not know how to effectively response in an emergency. Lifeguards are often teenager with little or no previous job responsibility yet they are in charge of our watching over our children in the swimming pool.
